Beers and Smiles
If my heart could
Write a poem
It would have sprinkled
Words of
Tenderness and care
In it.
If my heart could
Melt into seasons
I know it would
Have chosen to live in the
Infinite season of
Friendship.
If my heart could
Paint its feelings
It would simply
Retrace to the times
When you smiled.
If my heart could
Capture moments to
Store in its memory
It would hold our
Golden times closest.
If my heart could
Speak words
It would have found the
Courage to say the things
That I don't.
But my heart can only
Feel (and faintly
Remember);
So when I smell beer
Or see beef burgers, I begin to miss
Your eternal
Smile.
